About Me

Jackie Miller I want to inspire and encourage clients to become their best self by strengthening them to take the power away from the problem! I began my education at Columbus State University where I received my baccalaureate degree in Communications in June 1990.

In 2011 I enrolled in Graduate school at Troy University in Phenix City Alabama and graduated in 2014 with a master's degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling.  My internship created a transformation in my life. I learned more about myself as I counseled others. The name of the site was "The Chaplin and Family Counseling Center. I went on to get my certificate as a substance abuse counselor, and completed my internship at Talbott Recovery in Columbus, Georgia.
My focus as a therapist is to help the client achieve their goal for therapy; therefore, ending with an optimum outcome! Using evidence based psychological treatments learned while in my former training at Fort Benning. My journey continued with post graduate work at the Bradley Center in Columbus, Georgia, our local Behavior Health Hospital. After receiving my license, I began to work closely with children and Teens.

I have worked with most age groups, and populations to include veterans and LGBT communities. As a retired Fire Sergeant and EMT of 26 years, and a 12-year veteran of the Army Reserves, I have experienced death and dying, loss, birth, and worlds turned upside down. I have been strengthened by my paths to understand that life has challenges that are many times unescapable, but with hope and determination, we can make it!
